My husband loves hotdogs, so this weekend lunch works for him!  😊

The key to making good hotdogs is to further cook hotdogs in simmering water to remove excessive salt and other impurities.  I like to serve hotdogs with sunny side up.  The key to making sunny side eggs is to cover the skillet briefly at the end!  The combination of hotdogs and creamy runny yolks in mustard and ketchup is surprisingly very good-- a perfect weekend treat when you don't feel like cooking!! 😊😅

Recipe:  Dogs and Eggs (Hotdogs served on farm fresh eggs):

Ingredients: hotdogs (preferably made with no nitrites), eggs (preferably fresh and organically grown), hotdog buns, ketchup and mustard

How:

1. Place hotdogs in boiling water.  Reduce heat, so hotdogs simmer for about 10 min. The longer hotdogs stay in water, the less salty they will get.  

2. Cook eggs.  I like eggs sunny side up.  Cover the lid before egg is fully cooked without flipping.

3.  Arrange the egg over the hotdog in a bun with some ketchup and mustard or any condiments of your choice!  😊

4.  Serve hotdogs with a nice green salad if desired!
